Founded in 1992 by Richard and Kathy Masling, Masling Properties is a full service Real Estate company. With over three decades of diverse experience they have listed, sold, leased, and developed commercial and residential properties from modest cottages to multi-million dollar properties. This includes everything from sales of over 400,000 square feet of Class-A commercial office buildings to being involved in a 1200-acre residential development in Helotes, TX. The Maslings are active in local ministry affairs and have been involved in several homeowners’ associations. About THE TEAM
RICHARD MASLING, BROKER
Richard Masling began his San Antonio real estate career in 1977 shortly after graduating college. He worked with a prominent local real estate company assisting buyers and sellers with their real estate needs. Building on his sterling reputation and considerable experience, Richard joined Gemcraft Homes in 1982 where he specialized in new home sales. He consistently ranked among the company’s top producing sales counselor, ultimately earning the position of Sales Director. This success was highlighted when he became a two time recipient of the San Antonio’s Sales and Marketing Council's Summit Award for Sales Manager of the Year and winner of the Association of Home Building/National Sales and Marketing Council Gold Medal awards for directing sales of over $480 million. After his success at Gemcraft Homes, he partnered with the prominent home builder David Mann of Mann Custom Homes and soon worked his way into becoming responsible for all operations for this highly successful privately owned company specializing in Real Estate development, commercial and residential Real Estate sales, and custom home building. Development projects included several multi-million dollar master-planned communities totaling more than 800 acres. Richard’s high level of loyalty and integrity resonates with buyers and sellers as he approaches each Real Estate transaction with enthusiasm and intellect. His vast knowledge of San Antonio's multifaceted market and close attention to detail compliment his collaborations with clients. Inspired by his exceptional degree of service Richard's client base is largely repeat buyers and sellers and their referrals which is exemplified by being the recipient of Texas Monthly Five Star Real Estate Agent Award Winner for 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014. Richard is also a Property Tax Arbitrator with the Texas Comptroller, graduate of St. Mary's University in San Antonio, and a former Naval Reserve Officer.
KATHY MASLING, AGENT
A San Antonio, Texas native, Kathy graduated Suma Cum Laude from Texas State University in San Marcos Texas. She began her real estate career in 1980 when she was hired by a Houston real estate developer to be the leasing agent and property manager for a 148,000 sq ft Class-A office building in San Antonio. During a depressed market, Kathy very quickly leased the entire building representing a broad range of clients from large institutions to small businesses. After assisting and completing the sale of the office building, she was urged to consider a new career – and effortlessly transitioned into the field of real estate brokerage. She was invited to join the prestigious San Antonio firm of Commercial Industrial Properties where she became one of their most productive and well respected agents. As Vice President of their Office Building division Kathy leased, managed, listed and sold income producing commercial properties and land, culminating in the sale of a $23 million dollar Class-A office building.
Her experience with homes goes way beyond real estate. She also has a passion for interior design and home staging. With over 30 years of experience Kathy has remodeled and built many of their personal homes, one of which appeared in the San Antonio Express News. Clients love the fact she can assist them in the sale and marketing of their current home as well as help them personalize and/or update their new home purchase.

TARA MASLING OLIVARES, AGENT
As a licensed Realtor with Masling Properties, Tara is a native of San Antonio, very familiar with the communities in and around the area, and is extremely passionate about the work she does.
